The Polk Speaker - Audio RM6750 5.1 channel home theater speaker system is phenomenal and an outstanding value. I had originally been looking for a home theater in a box system to mate to a newly acquired 37″ LG LCD HDTV. The room housing our entertainment hardware is a family room — 20 X 20+ with a vaulted ceiling, fireplace and hearth on one end and lots of upholstered furniture — a relatively big space to fill. I was initially intrigued by the Amazon reviews on the Yamaha NS-SP1600, quite favorable, great price and describe great sound output for small speakers.

Yamaha’s next higher line NS-SP5700 were bigger and clunkier looking than I liked and I couldn’t find reviews. They sounded OK in a poorly set up demo. I kept shopping and was very happy I did. I looked at speaker manufacturers’ websites and rapidly coned down on the Polk Speaker - Audio RM6750as looking to fill the niche I sought balancing size, quality and price. I was able to listen to them in a well set up home theater showroom at a local Circuit City and was immediately sold on the clarity and power. This is a true dream system! The speakers generate enormous high quality sound.

We tested them out with “Master and Commander” — clear highs from all, natural voice from center channel, terrific oomph from the subwoofer and amazing surround sound experience in the early battle scene. I have filled this large room with amazing sound without going beyond 60% of full volume. I am a very happy customer. The Polk Speaker - Audio RM6750 sound better to my ears and cost much, much less. Speaker wiring is straigtforward; wire is not supplied and best to buy/use thick gauge to handle power. Speaker set up instructions from Polk are relatively meager, especially about the subwoofer.

These speakers are a great buy if you simply want an affordable 5.1 setup. They work fine and do fill my room with sound decently. For such small satellites, the quality is pretty decent. They lack strength at some lower frequencies, and I’ve frequently noticed that deep male voices aren’t particularly clear or powerful through the speakers. It’s particularly noticeable with the center channel, since that’s where most dialog will be placed. A bigger, better sub WILL be bigger and better, but the included subwoofer isn’t worthless and certainly does add to one’s experience. On my setup, I replaced the center channel with a Polk Monitor series speaker, and found that the upgrade improved my sound greatly. I’d recommend a similar upgrade for anybody considering these speakers.

These speakers are small, and so they are designed to fit very small spaces and work as computer speakers for basic, everyday use. Right? Yeah, I think if you want something greater for extreme gaming or booming bass then you need to look elsewhere. These are pretty much bottom of the line Altec Lansing, and for the purpose they were designed for, they work great. They do have good bass and respond well to sound you put through them for a small room or deskspace atmosphere. - Altec Speakers -

No, they wont fill a room with astounding vibrations and blow you away, but the quality of sound for a small desk space is very nice. They will get distorted at higher volumes, but if you have a small deskspace, how often are you really going to blast your music? I have been impressed with Altec Lansing for their products, and because these speakers work well for the reason they were made, I give them 4 solid starts. Not 5 because they aren’t the BEST speakers out there, but they deserve 4. - Altec Speakers -

These speakers aren’t great but they also don’t suck. I replaced a pair of really sucky speakers with these and they do exactly what I need them to. The volume is loud enough to fill an office sized room without distortion. The bass is a bit low and I had to turn up the tone nob but most people like deep bass so I’m probably alone in upping the tone (they definitely don’t sound tinny). I paid $10 less than they are listed for and think that $30 is a tad bit too much. As long as they don’t die within a year they’re worth $20. - Altec Speakers -

These speakers in my opinion are Decent for basic computing. I would not recommend for serious music listening, even though it plays music ok. The range of the sound produced is very limited. I expected more quality from Altec but I guess you get what you pay for. This is my first wireless mic. To my surprise, not only the craftsmenship on this was great, but the sound is excellent too. I mostly do interviews and close range dialog shoots. It’s great for the occasion. You might need to play around with the antennas to get the sound clear but once it’s done there’s no prob. You can plug in any kind of mic with a mini plug on the transimitter. This way you can turn any mic into a wireless mic. There are two outputs on the reciever. I purcahsed this last week from Amazon for my Sony VX2100 and I am pleasantly surprised at how well this works/transmitts. I had purchased a wired lav mic before this from Amz/Audio Tech, in fact the same mic that comes with this unit, but body motion and movement of subjects dictated the need for moblity and this seems to work just fine.

Its TVHF with 2 channels to choose from, the first I tried picked up minor interference, so I switched over to the 2nd channel and all was well. My indoor tests were leaving the camera/receiver on a table in my living room and walking into bedrooms and a bathroom, actually closing the doors, regardless of the distance. - Audio Pro Speakers -

Top quality sound. I also walked onto a balcony where I get heavy freeway traffic noise and of course it picked up the traffic but my voice had predominance!. It’s the same I have in wired version so I had a built in trust that it would sound just as good. And I mean TV commercial quality sound!. This wireless system is a must if your subject will be moving, like walking in a home showcasing real estate, or maybe outdoor recreations. I’ve had a pair of PRO-88W wireless rigs for several years now. They’ve been dropped, kicked, and rained on — and they still work. Sound quality is fine for 99% of all live video work, and with two channels available I can and often do wire up two people, then run the outputs either into a low-cost cam’s stereo mini-jack input through a stereo adapter “Y” or into the balanced XLR inputs on my Sony A1U. If you regularly need much more range than 25′ or so, spend the extra $$ for UHF, because all VHF units have the same interference problem. - Audio Pro Speakers -

Otherwise, get two Pro88s, a spare mic or two, extra clips and LOTS of windscreens, because these little parts will eventually break or get lost even if you secure them with tape. Even with a handheld mic, wireless is convenient and eliminates the possibility of your “talent” tugging a cord and knocking a tripod over. And the 25′ range restriction should only rarely be a problem; almost the only times I find myself farther than 20′ from subjects is at live concerts and other events, in which case I’m usually either pulling sound directly from a PA or working with a pair of heavy-duty, “music quality,” phantom-powered, wired mics on stands that feed directly into my XLR inputs. - Audio Pro Speakers -

I spent months picking a stereo system; reading reviews, listening to different systems at big box stores, and ultimately settled on this one. The reason is simple: this 5.1 system sounded better than any other I tested, even those that cost twice as much! The sound quality of this system is simply amazing at this price. You could drop 3x as much on a Bose system and be less satisfied. 2 HDMI inputs with full 1080p pass through. You can connect a game console, a cable box, and a DVD player, all with zero loss of resolution and picture quality.

There are more expensive systems that lack this feature. However, the audio pass through from HDMI cable goes directly to your tv, meaning you have to run a separate digital sound cable from your DVD player or CableBox. Here is a very reasonable Optical Digital Audio Cable and here is a Digital Audio Cable - both of which would be perfect. Amazing sound quality. This system has a powered sub woofer, which is a MUST for high quality, deep bass. Other systems in this price range lack this feature. The speakers are solid wood construction.

The speaker themselves produce accurate, high quality sound, from the highest highs to deep bass. I put them through their paces with both DVDs and music CDs, and everything I threw at them sounded wonderful. Surround sound processing was great in entertain: surround mode. This system has made watching movies and TV a new experience!. High quality build from the amp to the speakers. Some other systems I considered ran VERY hot (Like the Onkyo HT-SR800). This system runs a lot cooler, and makes me less worried about it burning out. It also helps the other devices in my audio cabinet stay cool and happy.

Many pre-sets, and a reasonably well designed remote. The remote is functional but not exceptional. One of my few frustrations with the system is it’s limited ability to change the speaker pre-sets. I frequently have to change them by hand using the buttons on the front of the amp. The speaker wire that comes with the set is thin. Spend the cash to get some good 16 gauge wire. Any solid 16 gauge wire will work. This speaker wire would be a reasonably priced option. This system has exceeded my expectations. If you want amazing sound from a 5.1 system for under $400, you can’t do better. You can even spend twice as much and get less for your money than you do with the Yamaha Home Theater YHT-390BL.

The livingroom in our new home just doesn’t have a place for free-standing speakers due to the floorplan. This ruled out using my existing theater speakers. I went to the local big-box store, and the only set of in-wall speakers they had that I thought were worth buying were a set of Klipsch that came in at $600 per set. I almost went for them, but after measuring I found they were about 2″ too wide for where I needed to install one of them. They do not compare to my aforementioned towers.

Those towers were also $900 a piece. They also are not nearly as good as the $600 Klipsch in-walls I looked at. What these are is a great everyday speaker that will sound decent to most people under most conditions. They are a *slight* bit muddy, but not for the price range. It also helps if you have a good receiver that lets you control the dynamic range being sent to your speakers. I have a high-end Yamaha that allows me to cut the low frequencies out of the main channel and only send them to the sub. Doing this, you get rid of most of the “muddy” issues.

I purchased a pair of these in-walls for a pool table/game room area I am building in the basement. My receiver is an Onkyo 805 7.1 home theater system and these will serve as stereo/audio part for only that room. I have never owned Polks or in wall speakers for that matter and listened to them at the big box store before purchasing these through Amazon. I was really impressed at the audio quality.

I also didn’t want floor standing speakers, but didn’t want to sacrifice audio quality either so these speakers filled the bill. Polk recommends to maximize the sound quality, you place a modest amount of a sound absorbing material. I think insulation also works just as well. I haven’t done this yet and they still sound excellent!

Everything I’ve purchased from Micro Innovations has turned out great, but this was the biggest surprise. These speakers greatly enhanced my notebook and in the dark I’d swear I was listening to a much sizable arrangement. The only drawback, I wish I could leave them attached to the notebook at all times but cannot if I wish to close it, but that’s not MI’s fault. The software included enables you to choose a variety of virtual listening environments and this is pretty much an amazing bargain. Best UBS speakers I’ve encountered. I own the Creative TravelSound 500 notebook speakers that clip on to the top of my 15.4″ laptop (which does not have a webcam) and they work fine for this device. I recently purchased an HP Mini Notebook 1033CL (with webcam) which, when closed, measures 10″ x 7″ x 1″ . I tried the TravelSound speakers on the HP Mini but the clip covered the webcam and because of the mini notebook size and weight the TS 500 speakers were too heavy and caused the HP to fall over. When I found the the Micro Innovation NB690MM speakers, the first thing I noticed is that you can clip them to the sides of the screen or the top, something I can’t do with the TS 500. Although, the size specifications seemed too large for the mini notebook, I decided to buy them anyway. - Pro Speakers -

Wow, was I surprised when they arrived yesterday to find that they are smaller than the specs indicated which is a plus for using with the HP Mini. The speakers have a rubberized cover on the clip and also has an adjustable screw to tighten to the laptop screen. Having them mounted on the sides does not cause the HP to tip over and the webcam is not blocked. Since the speakers are independent of each other, even mounting them on top of the monitor will not affect the webcam. A mini cd is included with the drivers and software to configure the speaker sound. One of the downfalls of a sub-sized notebook is that there is no cd drive. So, I loaded the cd in my main laptop, copied the files to a flash drive and and then installed the software to the HP Mini via the flash drive; no problems. Everything installed and the sound was better than I expected. - Pro Speakers -

The software allows you to control the volume and has settings for the type of environment/room you are in. There is a virtual picture of the room that lets you drag the virtual center channel, subwoofer, and speakers around to create the sound you want from stereo to surround sound. It also includes an equalizer with 10 or so preset choices or you can create your own equalizer setting and save it. What is amazing is that you can tell the difference in the sound creations. I played an mp3 in stereo and then changed the setting to surround sound when watching a movie. I can’t do that with the TS 500 unless I purchase some 3rd party software. With these speakers, you get the entire package. As a test, I carried the laptop from room to room with the speakers attached and the they did not fall off. I am picky on how my music and videos sound so I highly recommend these speakers especially if you plan on using them with a mini notebook. The only thing I wish the package included was a carrying case/bag for travelling but I’m sure I can find something that will keep them protected. - Pro Speakers -

I drive a vehicle with four 6 1/2″ speakers in it. There’s room for tweeters in the vehicle, but the OEM system did not have them installed. The foam surround of all 4 OEM speakers had rotted away and of course they sounded terrible. I found these Pyle Drive Gear Speaker Kits and couldn’t believe the price break. I also liked the individual driver design. I ordered one Kit and installed it in the front of my vehicle.

The difference was astounding. So astounding that I ordered another kit and installed it in the rear of my vehicle. I how have four 6 1/2″ woofers & 4 tweeters running through the enclosed crossovers that make it sound great and they’re only running off the OEM sound equipment! I bought these to go into my 1996 Tacoma Extended Cab.

Unfortunately they didn’t fit into the door spaces (without spacers which I hadn’t bought and was lazy), since the 6.5″ woofer has a very nice large and deep magnet. So I decided to install them into the side rear panels in the extended cab. They installed in no time, as all necessary pieces are included, including the wires with precrimped ends for both the tweeter and woofer. I have these running of a JVC MoSFet deck pushing 30X4RMS and they sound great, had to turn the LOUD feature off as the base was rattling the panels, as Toyotas are made of plastic.

I just found out I could have bought some 1″ spacers to make the woofers fit in the door…oh well…bought some seperate 3-way speakers for the fronts…probably won’t sound as good…we’ll just have to see…I am installing the 3-ways tomorrow. The Pyle woofers look great, with the yellow surround. You also get 2 different tweeter install options…surface mount (either with double sided tape or screws) or flush mount. The woofers also come with grill covers and the crossover looks to be built very nice…nothing in here feels or sounds cheap. - Car Audio Parts -

My 1400 - Watt amplifier was a great buy. Its size is very convenient and its performance is so far, excellent. I would recommend this product to any one who is looking for an affordable priced amplifier which offers an excellent rich sound to your car stereo when you are rolling around.

When my trusty Pioneer amp died on me after nearly 10 years, I was pretty torn. I didn’t need bass that hit hard enough to bounce things off of my car, but I also didn’t want to go back to stock. Luckily, I found this on Amazon before wasting my money on some flea market junk. The amp itself is pretty basic. You have typical crossover options and gain — nothing special there. I noticed this uses two 10A fuses instead of one 20A fuse. (Then again, the amp I’m replacing is really old, so maybe this isn’t as uncommon as I thought). So, altogether pretty ho-hum, until I got it hooked up.

I’m driving two Polk db12’s in a bandpass box, and they sound like new speakers with this amp. The range seems to be great, if a little “hollow” compared to the Pioneer. But that aside, it’s LOUD and I haven’t encountered any overheating problems. Obviously, this isn’t something you’ll want to use as a foundation for a competition-grade system, but it’s more than enough for a casual enthusiast. (And total overkill for people who don’t have to good sense to use foam or Dynamat under their license plates… you know who you are…)

This is an interesting Car Audio Subwoofers. When I first recieved it, I thought to myself, why are low end frequencies so weak?! At the time the sub was enclosed in a sealed 1.25 cu ft box. I later had to take the sub out of the car after an accident (luckily it wasnt damaged), and had it laying around at home. I later got my hands on a great sub-box modeling software (winISD) and started playing around with settings. Made a custom 6cu ft box with the vented port tuned at 25hz, and man is it different. This sub has become a complete beast.

At 30hz I went from from 106db all the way to 120db. 40hz is now 118db compared to 110db. I am convinced JL Audio Car Audio Subwoofers now has one the best subs around. BTW this is being power by a Samson studio amp outputing 600rms (peaks at 650ish) at 2ohms. So if you already have the sub, get a bigger box guys, HUGE diffence. Sorry about the long review, just wanted to share my experience with everyone. If I had to do it all over again, I think I wouldve done the 13w7 instead, sometimes I really wanna crank it up and start dropping pictures off the wall but the sub isnt powerful enough for that

I’m a music lover, and i’m always upgrading my sustem in the house and my car, and I have not seen such a powerful subwoofer like the JL 12w6v Car Audio Subwoofers. It shakes evrything in your car. I have it conneted to a jl amp 250w, and I tell you what! you don’t need more than that for a car. Over all it’s super good.

I’ve got 1 in the back of my SUV. Sealed enclosure powered by a Phoenix Gold 600×1 amp and a 1 farad Phoenix Gold capacitor. Sounds AWESOME!!! Very tight and controlled from 100hz to waaaay waaaay low. JL Audio makes the best subs. 1 of these is all you need!

I am a recording engineer and i bought these speakers to use as reference monitors to compare my mixes on a pair of consumer speakers. They sound a whole lot better than i expected! At low volume levels, these speakers aren’t far from my pair of $1000 professional studio monitors. They do lack a bit of mid to low-mid on the frequency spectrum, but that is expected with consumer speakers.

I recenty got a inexpensive 19″ HDTV which has decent enough video quality but it burdened with the WORST sound I’ve heard on a TV. Tinny sounding speakers with little volume. But there was a headphone jack on the TV. With headphones, the TV sounded excellent. My computer speakers were connected with a headphone jack… They worked just fine on the TV.

I looked for powered 2.1 computer speaker systems on Amazon and was delighted to find many choices under $40. The best value for the money seemed to be this Logitech and the cheap TV now has excellent sound. I give this a 5 star rating (instead of a 3 or a 4) because of the low price. There are better 2.1 systems but nowhere near this price.

These put out pretty good sound, but if they are turned up too loud, then they will distort and throw some static into the mix. Also, the bass adjustment is on the back of the subwoofer, that I keep on the floor a bit out of the way. The volume control is neat with the dial on top, but it is not as heavy as the wires connected to it, so the wires decide where the control will stay put if they are hanging off the back of the desk. I think I’m going to use these speakers on my auxiliary computer and go back to using my older, bigger ones on my new computer.
